Hello fellow cosplayers and cosplay enthusiasts!
My name is Nikole (Instagram) and I have been cosplaying within the Calgary and Edmonton communities for the better part of a decade. What may have started as Halloween costumes for myself and my children has become a wonderful hobby shared with my entire family and many dear friends.
Our personal growth in the hobby that has seen myself and close friends tackle and succeed at many different crafting techniques and skills also prompted our growth in photography as a way to showcase our achievements.
It wasn't until I met my friend and ultimate cosplay buddy, Ashley aka Longbeard Cosplays (Instagram) that I got really into the world of dynamic posing and photo editing to really cap off a great build and put together lasting photographic evidence of our success. You may remember our Jem and the Holograms group or our Ghostbusters builds.
My husband Jay, who is my handsome half in all our couples cosplays, was the driving force behind finding equipment and editing programs to fill our need.
Our photos are created with a Nikon D3200, Nikon lenses 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and occasionally just our Iphone X. Most of our shoots are done with 2-3 people (photographer, assistant and model, sometimes the photographer is also the assistant)
Our main focus has and always will be on having fun and learning as we go. Our close knit family of cosplayers select group and personal projects solely on how much we love the characters or subject matter. Body positivity is priority and we strive to make everyone feel like their best selves while having fun.
